I wanted to make myself some bike shorts to wear for roller skating because the expensive ones I've bought have either been too thin or rode/rolled up these thicc thighs.

I had a thought to try to create a copy of some existing leggings that fit me well, and went through a whole process of doing so, creating a mockup only for them to be laughably wrong (turns out tracing stretch leggings is a little hard).

So instead I bought the [Greenstyle Spark Leggings](https://greenstyle.com/en-au/products/spark-tights-pdf-pattern-sizes-b-m?ref=suz.id.au) pattern and found some discounted sports lycra from Spotlight for $8 a meter (while I was trying to find some kind of decent fabric there to finally start making the [Drafter's Grid dress](https://www.roberts-wood.com/drafters-grid-dress?ref=suz.id.au), alas it was not to be).

I would also maybe grade slightly larger at the thighs/hemline as they are a little tight there. But also I used a stretch stitch on my machine I don't usually use which I had trouble with (read: a lot of unpicking), so that might also be contributing. Next time I will go back to old faithful twin needle for a nicer finish.

I also had some fun inserting one of the tags I got for Christmas into it, so it kinda looks professional.

I think they fit fairly well, and the power of

and them being the right size means that they don't ride up like every other bike short I have owned.
